Valentine's Day is tomorrow, folks! Are you prepared to give that gift to your special someone? If not, mbare.org has some gift ideas for you!
Gifts For Her:
What better way to say, "I love you, honey," than with this Philips Magnavox Video RF Modulator. Your love can view all of her video in normal VHF TV signals.
How about $179 worth of roses?
Is she a music lover? Get her this CD! "Creepin Thru Da Hoodz" by the Junk Yard Band.
Gifts for him:
A new shirt?
Your love can make his one car garage into a two car garage with this 12,000lb. two post automobile lift. Put one car right under the other!
Is he literate? How about this book?
Posted by mbare at February 13, 2003 02:56 PMHey how did you find the same book I got you for Valentine's day!? You are literate right?
Have a great day!
Hey! That's not very nice. Meany.
Posted by: mbare on February 14, 2003 09:58 AMoooh, the modulator is even on sale!
Actually I think Valentine's day is evil, but saying that to your girlfriend will get you dumped faster than anything else.
Posted by: James on February 14, 2003 10:33 AMJames - Something tells me you've had a rather misfortunate experience on the subject? Hah!
Posted by: mbare on February 14, 2003 01:01 PM2 years ago: rejected by potential valentine
Last year: got a date, but everything that could have gone wrong did go wrong, it was a disaster (long story that i've tried to repress)
This year: Girlfriend is really sick, flowershop gave away my order to someone else and stuck me with a craptastic flower... and its only 2:00, who knows how much worse its gonna get
Posted by: James on February 14, 2003 02:53 PMMy track record with valentine's day is pretty bad...
2 Years ago: Rejected
Last Year: Got a date, but it went horribly, everything that could have gone wrong did!
This Year: Girlfriend is sick with a bad cold, Flowershop gave away my order and stuck me with a leftover crappy rose, and i just found out my GF got me a present after we'd decided we weren't gonna do gifts so I hadn't gotten one for her... and its only 2:00 pm, who knows how much worse its gonna get!
Posted by: James on February 14, 2003 02:57 PMack, sorry for double post, i did it the first time and got a 404 page not found when i pressed post, then i checked comments again and it wasn't there, so i did it again and magically they are both there now
Posted by: James on February 14, 2003 03:00 PMHaha. Hurray for double posts! Keep us updated. Such a saga.
Posted by: mbare on February 14, 2003 03:02 PMi hate everyting
Bucca's lost our dinner reservation
gonna try Olive Garden
The best part, is that you took the time between restaurants to update us. Haha. That's simply fantastic.
Posted by: mbare on February 15, 2003 01:09 AMOk so I didn't get the $179 flowers, but I got 30 better flowers. And now they are beautifying my room and making it smell so purty! Looks like my track record just got really good!
Olive Garden for Valentine's Day? If I ever had a date on Valentine's Day, I'd be ashamed to admit that's where we were going...
Posted by: jlb on February 15, 2003 03:59 AMway to kick a guy while he's down jlb. if you lost both your flower order, and end up with one rose, and lost your reservations to a nice place for dinner, you'd be desperatly looking to salvage the situation as well.
Posted by: bass on February 15, 2003 04:40 AMJames, I think this is a case where Video RF Modulator would have been a great idea. :) Regardless, I'm sure you made a fine time out of the evening.
Posted by: mbare on February 15, 2003 05:00 AMyeah, finally got seated at Red Lobster at 9:30pm...
thank goodness valentine's day only comes around once a year. Next year I'm gonna sit in my room and play video games
Actually my track record for St. Valentine's Day seems to be pretty good. I comm'd 2 games, and won both of them, which rocks, and I went 45 and 4 as skulk, and then added on 23 and 1 as fade.
Yep, good ol' Valentines, the time where we gather and play video games.
Posted by: Dep on February 15, 2003 08:14 PMAmazingly, I didn't read James' video game comment before writing my last comment.
Either way, its much more kind to your sanity. Or lack thereof.
Posted by: Dep on February 15, 2003 08:27 PMHey, why couldn't you have brought me flowers dammit!?
