It's good to know I'll be safe when I travel home to WI.
Thanks to the sensible votes of Terry Van Akkeren (State Rep. in Sheboygan) and Bob Ziegelbauer (State Rep. in Manitowoc) Doyle's veto of the bill was not overturned.

Uh, concealed carry of what, beer? Cheese? SAUSAGES?? Oh, the humanity!
Ok, fine, I know what you're talking about. Still. Sheesh. Virginia is a concealed carry state and I managed to live there for several years. Their truly dangerous lunacy is in other areas.
Posted by: Joanna on February 7, 2006 04:49 PMYes, what a relief! On the other hand, we have found out how unsafe we who live in Wisconsin are when we travel in all those other, utterly unenlightened states! Not a relief, that.
Posted by: vsb on February 8, 2006 10:51 PMJust read that Feingold is the only senator standing up to the patriot act renewal. Are you working for him Mike? If so tell him I think he's doing a good thing even if none of the other Dems agree.
I gotta be honest, I'm not very happy with the Democratic party right now. They are pretty much just going along with whatever the administration wants and not fighting back on anything or pressing any of the serious issues. I know they don't have a majority but there is no reason they should just be rolling over like they are. Right now the only thing they have going for them is the Democrats are slightly less corrupt than the Republicans. That's pretty pathetic when you think about how many scandals are going on right now. How can the party be so weak at a time like this when more than ever before there has been a need for someone to stand up to the administration and say enough is enough. I think I'm voting Independent next time, the wasted vote argument no longer holds up when both parties are the same.
